Tempation on a Bed of Rice

Temptation was a nice way for me to experimant with texture, I am trying to incorporate more of it in my work, although I like the effect of a smooth surface with subtle undulations, like a plasterd wall has.

Divine Puzzlement

Also affectionately known as "Fernando" by myself and Damian Michaels, while I was working on this painting for him, Divine Puzzlement is a work of inner/self questioning and exploration, which I was not even fully aware of myself until a while after the painting was completed and shipped to Australia.

Divine Puzzlement was also included in the "Fantastic and Visionary Art" tour.

Imagination...

The full title of this painting is "Imagination - With a Nod to Fanny."

"Fanny" is Fanny Brennan, an artist whose surrealistic miniature paintings sometimes included clouds, for instance being cut with scissors or escaping from burlap sacks. Although this painting is 10" x 8", I like to think of it, comparatively speaking, as a mural.

The frame is actually part of the painting, it is a painting of a painting.

Easter

4" x 5" is a size I am becoming very comfortable with. My brush strokes are just the right scale for the detail I want. I have started painting once again and the series I am working on (albeit very slowly!) will be mostly 4" x 5" oil paintings on masonite.
